Designflows 2025 Challenge

App for Lunar Robots

Story

I took part in the Designflows 2025 Challenge by Bending Spoons.

The baseline of the challenge was an imaginary scenario in which humanity had started colonizing the moon. To make their day-to-day lives easier, they had helpful robots called "Hexabots." These robots could gather different materials or assist with simple tasks, such as watering plants.

The challenge was to design an app that could be used to assign tasks or simply view the status of different Hexabots. First, a wireflow outlining the process of assigning a task had to be created. Then, three key screens of this process had to be selected and refined into high-fidelity mockups.

Learnings

As this was my first time participating in such a challenge, I felt a bit overwhelmed at first. However, once I started creating the initial screens, I became more comfortable with the process. I really enjoyed the product discovery aspect of working within such a futuristic scenario. Although I didn’t make it into the top 40 participants, the challenge was a lot of fun and inspired me to create more mobile app designs from scratch.
